How time flies!

The month of June is fast approaching. AND I STILL HAVEN’T UPDATED THIS BLOG. I am deeply sorry (mostly to myself because I don’t even know if someone actually reads this blog other than my sister hahaha) for being an irresponsible blogger.

I have a lot of stories to tell. A lot of food reviews and recipes to share. I can’t wait to be back again!

Old Habits

No. I haven’t forgotten this blog yet. I know it’s been weeks since my last update but I’ve been busy lately with a new (well not really new) hobby that’s been taking up most of my non-working hours and even my weekends. You see, I started gaining weight immediately after the wedding. I still don’t know how I got here. Pre-wedding day, I was so motivated to lose weight. I changed my diet and exercise a LOT.  Our favorite Adobo and Pork Binagoongan were no longer a part of our weekly meal. Instead we had broccoli, cauliflower or spinach sautéed with either tuna or skinless chicken. We also started eating brown rice, brown bread and even substituted white sugar with raw sugar. It was a lifestyle change basically. But after the wedding, I unknowingly took the wrong turn. I stopped exercising and started eating pork again. It was all good for a few months. But not until I hit the scale and saw how much weight I gained. I felt really bad. I know my body isn’t happy either because my pimple started popping out and felt my back and neck aching. I get so tired easily and felt like a limp vegetable. BAD! BAD! BAD!

And so a few weeks ago, I slowly started exercising again. No change of diet yet but I’ll get there soon. For now, I’m enjoying Gilad’s Body sculpt routine every weekdays and on weekends I do badminton, belly dancing and zumba with friends. It’s a lot more fun if you do activities like this with friends. You can motivate and inspire each other to reach your goal.

Gilad’s routine exercise is no joke. I had serious body ache for 3 days but mind you, that didn’t stop me. I continue to do this every other day and I can already feel my fats melting away and my body toning. If you’re going to do a similar exercise, please please warm up or do some stretching beforehand. Otherwise, you will really injure yourself.

Coming soon…

How do you do it?

So it’s been sooo long since I had a serious post in this good for nothing blog. Everyday I think about updating it; write something that happened last month, last year and last last year. But I still couldn’t get my mind straight. I could not make myself take blogging seriously. Seriously in a sense that I could use it as some kind of diversion. Diversion from all of the crazy things that going through my mind that even my other me couldn’t not comprehend.

I want to write. I want to blog. Something that  reflects my other me. Something that I could look back onto and say to myself, “what was I thinking on that day u?”

To all the writers/bloggers out there, tell me please how do you do it? Where do you get all that inspiration to write? where?

(Out of topic) This picture was taken around 5 years ago at Mt. Pulag. Yes, I used to climb mountains but not the hard-core type. I was in the company of experienced mountaineers so I know I was in good hands. Plus, we went via the Ambangeg trail which was a walk in the park as what most say. Of course, it wasn’t a walk in the park for me. It was so cold up there specially at night and as you get near the top, breathing was a difficulty. It was well worth it though. The view was AMAZING. As you can see in the picture below, we were ‘literally’ above the clouds. I thank the BIG GUY up there for these wonderful gift and for having had the chance to see and experience this myself.

One Lazy Sunday

We went biking. It’s one of the things i would rather do than going to the mall to spend my weekend.

We ‘people watched’.

Families spending quality time with each other.

Father and daughter bonding moments.

saw several exercise junkies…

including ‘Uncle’ who walked back and forth along the shoreline for about an hour.

We discovered a new place to hang out.

They serve enormous size of steak. It wasn’t that good but not that bad.

I love lazy Sundays specially when we get to spend our OWN quality time together.

Life of Our Weekend

August 201010

This is my nephew.
He loves to play a lot.
He doesn’t like wearing shirt that much because it makes him sweaty.
He loves his milk and drinks them five times a day.
He loves playground slides and he’s overly obsessed with helicopters (the real ones).
He also loves chasing landing kites and hopes to catch one someday by himself.
He’s been making our weekends crazy and we’re enjoying his company very much!

P.S.
He loves watching Toy Story 3. Believe it or not he has seen it for about ten times.

Our Favourite View

Edited August 28, 2010: I would like to share another recent view from our dearest window. We never thought we would see this in Singapore but I guess  the big GUY up just wanted to give us this gift and it truly made me smile. I’m truly touch!

IMG_2776
I was in our room when Rudel called me with excitement and started shouting “There’s a rainbow! There’s a rainbow'”. He grabbed the camera as fast as he could then click! click! click!

A few minutes later…

IMG_2780

We saw another one! Ahhhhhh…..pure BLISS! It lasted for about 15 minutes then the clouds started clearing up and the sunny sky was back.

The day before Mr. Rainbow made his debut in our window, we were visited by an angry light.

It was about to rain and there were thunders then the LIGHT followed through

weirdness, roasted chicken, milkmaid

Tonight we're having Honey Glazed Lemon Roast Chicken for dinner. It's still in the oven and cooking; smells so good in here. If only i can post the smell here I would. Cooking time is about 2 hours according to the recipe. I'm starving already so while waiting I'm having strawberries with salt as a dip. According to boyps, it's a weird combination. He has never tried it, how would he know? If you love green mangoes with salt and it's not available in your area, then strawberries with salt is a good substitute (Filipinos, specifically Pangasinenses can relate to this).

Boyps eats "Milkmaid sandwich" for breakfast. Who's weird now?

We went to Singapore's Botanical Garden today to test my new toy. I'll post some pictures later. Now, back to kitchen.
